Hello everyone… One of the most stressful things in wedding planning is staying on track in hiring wedding vendors because you don’t want to book too late (and your favorite vendors are already booked for your wedding date).
I hope this checklist will be useful for brides out there:
Wedding Venue(s) – 10-12 months prior
Wedding Planner – 9-11 months prior (it is helpful to have your venue(s) booked before meeting with a planner, if you just want to have a ‘day-of coordinator’)
Photographer/Videographer – 11 months prior
Caterer – 9-10 months prior (if venue doesn’t have one already)
Officiant – 9 months prior (trend is having someone close to you, family member or friend officiating your wedding)
DJ/Band/Ceremony Musicians – 8-9 months prior
Florist – 7-8 months prior
Baker – 6-8 months prior
Transportation – 5 months prior
Hair and Make-Up Stylists – 4 months prior
I like to err on the ‘ear-lier’ side of planning, and booking vendors as soon as possible. For example, a bakery isn’t going to turn you down if you come to them 9 months in advance.
Plus, if you book sooner, the chances of you getting your first choice is high because you are contacting popular vendors before other couples.
